this is a prototype i made last year. playing it now makes me cringe (the title screen contains a very weird and ineffectual jab at, academic gender discourse, i think??) anything that works here does so spite of whatever i was trying to do with it - sources for clever quotes i wanted to put in the level transitions but thankfully didn't include joanna newsom, james baldwin(!), & the daodejing. however, i am still fond of the atmosphere and remain enamored with the messiaen midi bgm, which is the best part of this game. my advice for playing it is, match white bugs with white bugs whenever you can.
